BY KEITH M. JUDGE
One: the United States is being attacked from within by the sitting president of the United States and his accomplices.
49.8 percent of the electorate voted for Trump and at least 43 percent of poll respondents approve of this attack circa April 2025.(3) It goes without saying, many people do not view the executive orders of the Trump regime or extralegal actions of the polysemous and nebulous “Department of Government Efficiency”(4) as an attack on the United States. Perhaps they’re naive to the relationship between Musk, Trump and Putin,(5) perhaps willfully and consciously naive, which is another way of saying, perhaps many Americans are ambivalent to, complicit and/or sympatico with the systematic and blatantly unconstitutional dismantling of the United States government. This quantity would also appear to include a fair number of Democratic politicians, who are angling for a way to cleave a path to bipartisanship with what is obviously a hostile criminal enterprise. This effort on behalf of career Democrats to uphold “norms” while the roof is caving in around them is as much spectacle as any act of Congress since we effectively live in a dictatorship, tho our present circumstances beg the question: if this US government is a dictatorship, who is the dictator?(6)
One might assume Donald Trump(2) is the United States’ first dictator, he is the sitting president, but recently, he has more closely resembled a defeated organ grinder seething in the shadow of a monkey that threatens to disclose sensitive information concerning the grinder’s illicit acquisition of the organ,(7) or perhaps intimate details surrounding the grinder’s history of sexual misconduct with minors who have been trafficked as sex objects in a quid pro quo arrangement the grinder did not know was being filmed(8): a sad ogre unwittingly caught in a trap of his own devise. This leaves us with the billionaire monkey who preens like a homecoming queen for the cameras. The primate’s puffed-up self-importance, sociopathy and insatiable appetite are among the primary indicators for your run-of-the-mill mass-murdering autocrat, but I imagine the real villain is that “dickhead,” “khuylo” as they say in Ukraine: Putin, who has built his career on honey-potting, blackmailing and extorting potential assets, whose first language is deceit and who elevated the corruption and subsequent purchase of elections to an art form. Both Russia and the United States have perfected the time-worn strategy of divide-and-conquer and Russia has kept Trump in its back pocket since the 80s.(9) Trump and Musk are pawns in Putin’s sadistic game of chess: he doesn’t care if they’re torn limb from limb; he will have succeeded in crippling the United States with a grievous, potentially fatal blow.
Two: the people who voted for Trump voted for a dictator.
What’s the difference between an American who votes for a dictator and a Christian who remains ignorant of Yeshua’s teachings? There is no difference; they’re the same hypocrite. Bible thumpers and self-described “patriots” voted for a godless, depraved sexual predator and narcissistic tyrant. They voted for someone who promised to be a dictator on “day one”:(10) retribution for some yet unnamed historical grievance (whatever grievance pops into the tabula rasa of the Trump supporter’s mind at that moment) against “the enemy within,”(11) who they believe is “poisoning the blood of the country.”(12) Anyone who voted for Trump and feigns ignorance regarding the flurry of red flags that preceded his power grab must suffer from a clinical condition that demands some form of immediate intervention, and if they feel a pang of indignation towards Trump, who is making everyone who voted for him look like chumps, they ought to funnel that indignation into a solution, however painful, that remedies the precipitous series of increasingly existential circumstances that have befallen us due to their monumentally calamitous lapse of judgement.
I realize Kamala Harris may not have been the ideal candidate. The ideal candidate is either different for everyone or is someone who can shape the image of the ideal candidate in everyone’s minds to conform to his or her own image while (important point here) uplifting we the people to realize our best selves: a rare personality that arrives only once in a century, or once every millennium. Perhaps such leaders are ubiquitous among us, but perennially barred from positions of influence until the spirit arranges the stars in such a way for someone who is not a complete moral vacuity to abscond with a flicker of power once every six generations. Kamala was no such christ figure, tho I believe her real error was overestimating the efficacy of the Democratic Establishment’s electoral strategy, which, circa 2024, consisted largely of abandoning the future, the interests or concerns of anyone under 45, to court middle-aged Republican women, who were never not going to vote for Trump after having steeped themselves in the bigoted conspiracism and fear-mongering propaganda that typifies the authoritarian media apparatus that increasingly dominates the US information landscape.(13)
The prospect of nipping the US fascist experiment in the bud by clinching the 2024 general election for Harris has passed – that ship was scuttled – but nonetheless, there is one group of people who is not responsible for ushering in our new dictator: the people who voted for Kamala Harris, 48.3 percent of the electorate.(14) Republicans, on the other hand, voted for a dictator, the most un-American thing that anyone can do, and now some of them are crying “foul!” at town halls across the country.(15) Republican party leaders even advised their members to cancel town hall events; that’s how vocal voters have been in some Republican districts.(16) The elections certainly haven’t been shaping up in Republicans’ favor.(17)
We’re each culpable in some way to some variable extent, but Republican voters and those who withheld a vote for Kamala ultimately are responsible for this pitiful and lowly state of capture.
If Republican voters want to redeem themselves, march to the front lines of the fight against this dictator, because those of us who suffer most as a result of your decision to vote for a career criminal like Donald Trump are obliged to reserve only the bare minimum of concern, empathy or mercy for you, especially if we are forced to rectify your error by exerting extraordinary effort that entails existential risk to control for your dysregulation. As the regime’s abuses pile up, those who support Trump and/or Musk will increasingly be viewed as little more than Nazi supplicants, slavish cowards and opportunistic sadists. If we don’t halt Trump and Musk in the ensuing years, we will all amount to little more than the property of this regime; maybe you could aspire to be a well-groomed guard dog but the opportunities will likely stop there.
Three: There is no legitimate place for any amount of private money in politics and the Democratic Party must either fold or be revived with young blood.
The Supreme Court and Senate should be abolished. The Executive should also be abolished. The Articles of Confederation (the United States original formation) was superior to the Constitution singularly due to its omission of an Executive. We should all consider exactly what societal reforms we could abide because one way or another, the future of this country will appear dramatically different from the one in which many of us were raised.
There exists a group of people who scapegoat the vulnerable to distract from their crimes;(18) who project inner demons upon the world and gaslight audiences, accusing enemies of their own wrongdoings;(19) who leverage ill-gotten gains to purchase centers of propaganda(20) and manipulate governments;(21) who espouse all manner of misogyny,(22) transphobia,(23) ableism(24) and racism(25) under the pretense of “free speech”(26) while drawing up blacklists(27) and silencing opponents with a bevy of malicious lawsuits;(28) who intentionally compromise the integrity of the economy to extort businesses and scoop up the losses;(29) who enforce diktats by extorting concessions from unwilling targets;(30) who disenfranchise voters by pursuing disingenuous claims of voting fraud;(31) who terminate life-saving services;(32) who pilfer Americans’ personally identifiable and financial information;(33) who share Americans’ personally identifiable and financial information with known Russian agents;(34) who disappear legal residents for exercising their first amendment rights;(35) who insult foreign leaders,(36) endanger the peace along our borders(37) and wreck relations with old allies;(38) who censor and falsify the past;(39) who engage in and support acts of genocide,(40) ethnic cleansing(41) and apartheid;(42) who intend to replace below-subsistence wages for immigrant farm workers with free labor performed by depressed and anxious African American children who are forced into indentured servitude on plantations where they will be re-parented with the owners of “wellness farms;”(43) who pay lip service to eugenecist and reality-denying conspiracism that piggybacks on vaccine hesitancy to the detriment of our public health and at the cost of human life;(44) who intend to unconstitutionally force a constitutional convention;(45) who are centralizing all databases and payroll in the creation of a digital and financial panopticon intended to extort the populace and command obeisance;(46) who traffick human beings in a newly revived, US taxpayer-funded slave trade with despots like Nayib Bukele;(47) who make of the United States and her people an object for self-enrichment(48) in a privatization scheme that would outsource critical services to companies run almost entirely on algorithms.(49) This is the same group of people who intend to restore the United States to some mythical vaunted order that increasingly resembles Orban’s Hungary if Orban’s Hungary aspired to the wicked depths of Nazi Germany or The Confederacy of southern states. If life under these conditions is amenable to you, if you aspire to be a guard dog who protects a handful of bloated skin sacs in their gilded towers from a horde of armed, hungry and bloodthirsty Americans, be my guest.
Enjoy the scraps.
The rest of us need to acknowledge, accept and address some challenging realities. Trump, Musk & Co. are salivating over the defiled carcass of the US government and have commenced with butchering her with intent to distribute her appendages among themselves as if she were the spoils of war. Serial killers are addicted to transgression. Having inured themselves to violating the sanctity of life, they seek more blood, more depravity, more bodies, and this regime’s transgressions have been public. Of course they shall feign incredulity and “deny, deny, deny”(50) that they raped and slaughtered that poor girl, the Constitution of the United States, on live television while half of us cheered. They will describe this murder as a “rebirth” that “sets you free” while the economy nosedives into the shitter(51) and the military is ordered to fire on the discontented,(52) who they will call “terrorists.”(53) If soldiers refuse to kill us, they will deputize mercenaries and paramilitaries screened for ideological purity; anything to distract from the murder spree in the White House.
Perhaps you think this extended analogy is unfair, but if you live in the United States today, you live in a dictatorship. Perhaps it doesn’t feel like that where you live and you may be comfortable now, but you won’t be for long. None shall be spared fallout from the hijacking of the US government by a wealthy international crime syndicate that uses human trafficking to generate obscene amounts of revenue and blackmail persons in positions of authority.(54) In this world, everyone is a mark, everyone is a tool, everyone is scrutinized and catalogued.
If life in a dictatorship were a “Choose-You-Own-Adventure” book, every narrative branch would split four ways. You could 1) fight, 2) flee, 3) conform (join the Nazis), or 4) commit suicide. If you have thoughts of suicide, please call a suicide prevention line. Once upon a time, I contemplated suicide regularly, but I’ve since conversed with my angels and demons and have learned to love life and living: if I’m going to go down, I’m going down swinging. That being said, there may be times in the next several years when fighting, fleeing and conforming are not viable options.
Fighting a fascist dictator may involve being carted off to a concentration camp, losing one’s family or being hunted by the regime’s deputies. Fleeing may involve living in a tent for years, bobbing around on an overburdened raft in the middle of the ocean or starting at the bottom rung of a new society while struggling to speak an unfamiliar language. Conforming may involve looking away and doing nothing while your neighbors suffer some gross violation of basic human rights, to participate in a gross violation of basic human rights or to join in ritualistic displays of submission and fealty to “dear leader”(55) as the regime tightens groupthink’s grip on the populace.
The United States you knew is gone.
You hear the fanfare of a parade down the street, you grab your keys, charge down the old growth wooden treads of an early twentieth century stairwell that exudes the pungent aroma of furniture polish before exiting onto the sun-dappled easement. At the end of the block, people gather amidst a flutter of handheld flags, red hats bobbing above the fray. You settle in along the periphery of the spectacle in time to observe a matte black cybertruck towing a float that ferries a local politician above the throng of onlookers. To your surprise, the stuffed shirt who passes for an elected official straightens his back and shoots his arm out in a Nazi salute.(56)
“All hail Trump! All hail Musk!” he yells and to your horror, the crowd responds with a refrain, “All hail!” They even mirror the politician’s gesture. Do you 1) part the crowd and obstruct the parade route in protest, 2) return and draw up plans to leave the country, 3) join the crowd and bust out your own Nazi salute, or 4) score some dope and forget everything?
There is no turning back for Trump and Musk; they have gone too far, and by their accounting, they have already succeeded. The only way these billionaires will leave the White House is if they’re physically removed. The series and confluence of events requisite for this hypothetical outcome to be rendered possible, much less probable, presupposes the need for at least a robust reformation, if not complete overhaul of society and government. The United States in which most of us were raised is being stripped and sold for parts at rock bottom rates: it shall never return and is currently being replaced by a fascist dictatorship lest we do something to change that.
If we were to succeed in deposing this dickhead, the most obvious and necessary reform would be to remove all influence of money over our politics from “Buckley v. Valeo”(57) to “Citizens United v. FEC.”(58) This is the first and least of the reforms necessary before the American people could possibly live in peace and prosperity again. Such a reform demands a transparent, publicly-funded and universal electoral apparatus that includes robust protections that emphasize the ubiquity, utility and accessibility of polling places and ranked-choice voting.(59)
Four: Why is this happening? “Why” is not my favorite question word, but it probably resonates most with the avalanche of emotion that has buried many of us as the Trump regime rattles the global economy while maintaining its blitzkrieg to unmake every institution that has built modern American society. My preferred question word is, “how.” In the realm of homo sapien power dynamics, motive informs “how,” just as “how” describes motive.
When a small group of people raised without the scruples of a thoughtful, inquisitive and compassionate vision of the world and its riches are compelled by avarice to harm their neighbors in order to acquire more money, resources and power, they obfuscate their secret war with deceit. These confidence men market their vector of control, exploitation and extraction as a “revolution” or “innovation” over the old order while designing a backdoor into the system that guarantees the hoarders exponentially increasing profits over a long expanse of time. Invariably, the distractions, mirages and corruptive influences that gird those in positions of power begin to falter and these hucksters are possessed by the credible threat that their ruse shall be uncovered, so they poison the minds of the people against their neighbors while attacking a status quo that relied on a modicum of good will, unanimity and rule of law, all in the erection of an authoritarian government that rules by fiat and relies on an atmosphere of fear enforced by deputies culled from among those who are most completely corrupted by the emerging regime’s propaganda.
The most remarkable difference between the Trump-Musk regime and the Third Reich is how they conduct themselves with regard to veterans, their supporters and the economy. Nazi Germany’s economic program relied heavily on Keynesian devices and closely resembled the New Deal.(60) Donald Trump and Elon Musk intend to crash the economy so billionaires, many of whom staff Trump’s cabinet, can rake in the losses while Trump attempts to extort loyalty from foreign countries and corporations. He’s even willing to destroy the dollar and replace American currency with an inelastic digital commodity like Bitcoin(61) to functionally enslave entire populations to anti-democratic tech municipalities in a form of auto-colonization.(62) As the scraps of digital currency are hoovered up by Trump, Musk & Company’s hypothetical technofascist megalopoli, those who monopolize the currency will shed smaller and smaller fractions of the finite commodity to increasingly dependent subordinate populations.
Trump intentionally misled his supporters regarding the poor tax he would exact on local markets with his tariffs(63) and he seems unconcerned that an economic downturn shall negatively impact many of his supporters.(64) Republican voters appear miffed that Trump often plays second fiddle to a recently naturalized South African deputized by Trump to conduct an extralegal dismantling of the US government, yet Trump’s approval rating has dropped only 4 percentage points, from 47 to 43 percent.(65) That’s still an appalling number of people applauding a degenerate who threatens, extorts, gaslights and enthusiastically transgresses human norms in the wholesale destruction of the government he’s purported to protect.
It’s only April, however, about 74 days after Trump’s second inauguration and most Americans live in a swamp of lies, postmodern fluff and misleading bullshit. Low-information voters who habitually avoid news, politics or confrontation may not comprehend the threat until it’s on top of them, which could take years, but the unraveling has begun. Trump has introduced doubts regarding his credibility,(66) mental constitution(67) and authority(68) into the national zeitgeist. A disregard for commerce(69) and the cost of living,(70) the wanton alienation, impoverishment and neglect of veterans,(71) hostile attitudes toward demographics that may have supported Trump in the past, such as female soldiers(72) and married women,(73) leave a lot of questions unanswered.
Trump and Musk may believe themselves the heralds of a new order, but to cogent, informed and sober-minded people, they are no more than mere tools, blunt objects wielded by a faraway autocrat to bludgeon the United States. Putin credits the US with the sunset of the USSR, an event he once described as the "greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the twentieth century.”(74) Our present constitutional crisis is Putin’s pay back for the fall of the Soviet Union, and convenient cover for an even more egregious crime: ecocide.
The oil barons and fascist techbros who paved the way for the digital prison sold to us in the 1980s and 90s will benefit most from the dissolution of the United States. One everlasting constant throughout this tumult and upheaval is Nature. Fewer and fewer people may remain “poisoned” against Nature as the effects of climate change mount into an unavoidable and all-consuming existential threat. AI is adding an exponentially increasing multiplier to a man-made phenomenon that ends only one way if we don’t stop it: the end of all life on earth as we know it. The oil baron’s ruse demands brainwashing conspiracism for it to remain effectual, so “attack information, attack knowledge, attack wisdom (‘yes, definitely attack wisdom’), attack government, attack freedom of expression . . .”
Energy; we use too damned much of it, it’s killing us and the Peter Thiels, Mark Zuckerbergs and Elon Musks of the world demand more of it while the oil barons dredge it out of the earth for them. We are no more than “human capital stock”(75) to them, or labor, if “labor” is said with a groan that translates into, “unnecessary.” These people operate according to a popular fiction that they or their demon spawn will live on a satellite Earth while disease, tsunamis, war and famine wipe out the rest of us as we jockey for positions in the same factories that manufacture our demise.
Five: I don’t see how any of this ends peacefully outside of a spiritual revolution that places wisdom, compassion, progress, openness and courage front-and-center: something diametrically opposed to dominionism, “Christian Nationalism,” the religious wing of American fascism in postmodern America. Without a collective bout of self-reflection on the scale of spiritual revolution, I’m afraid the regime’s actions shall increasingly pose an existential risk to its residents, particularly those it targets for processing in its euphemistic “deportation” program. The result shall be either conflict or conformity by way of brutal oppression.
Good luck voting the bastard out of office. Trump has spared no time in compromising the United States’ electoral system(76) and signaled his intent to unconstitutionally run for a third term.(77) Even if Democrats somehow overcome Trump’s attempts to compromise our electoral system, do they possess the backbone to do what is necessary to contain Trump and hold him accountable? They had four years to do that under Biden and they failed miserably.
Democracies are earned, not given, and once a people win their independence, it requires constant vigilance to maintain and sustain it. Independence is a fragile thing. We have lost our independence, we have lost our democracy; reclaiming them will require sacrifice.

Trump indicts immigrants as “killer, rapists and drug dealers,” yet immigrants are far less likely than US-born citizens like himself to commit a crime. Trump accuses elderly Tesla protesters for having committed “domestic terrorism,” but he has both pardoned and wiped the records of insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on his behalf. This is a regular rhetorical tactic employed by Trump to enable the worst impulses of his supporters and propagandists while providing nominal cover for his own crimes and transgressions.
